Upcoming Breaking Changes (03/17/25)

Zeal will be making several updates to our API that could result in breaking changes.

Changes are detailed below - please reach out to your CSM with any questions.

Allowing payments to terminated workers

March 17th, 2025

Zeal will now allow employee checks to be made to employees with terminated employment status and allow contractor payments to be made to contractors with terminated employment status.

Customer Accounts Status Automation

March 17th, 2025

Zeal has added an updated change to Customer Accounts Onboarding if utilizing the API.

After the Customer Account has Verified their Microdeposits, there will be one final step to set the Customer Account ID’s Onboarded Status to True (onboarded=true).

After onboarding is complete for the Customer Account, Zeal will automatically move the status from payment_permission_pending to live, which is needed to enable payroll debits against the Customer Account.

This step will replace the step of setting the status of Customer Accounts to ‘Live’ as part of the Customer Accounts Onboarding.

Note: This does not affect the onboarding of Customer Accounts through the UI Generate Customer Account Onboarding Link completing both sections of profileInfo and bankInfo will automatically set their Onboarded Status to True now.
